Dunia lives in a small house that has a roof made of tin and adobe walls. The floor is dirt and when it rains the entire floor becomes mud. Dunia sleeps on a bed from ropes. The only other furniture that the family has is on wooden chair. They have running water but do not have electricity. At night they use kerosene candles so that they can see. Their mother has to do the cooking outside on the adobe oven and when it is cold they light a fire on the floor inside. This of course makes breathing difficult.
